Useful and covered all topics which are needed

I found this book very helpful in understanding what is increasingly an ubiquitous but invisible part of the infrastructure that make up the world that we live in. Being in product development, I needed a book to help make sense of all the different means for networking. This book presents that information in a very intuitive way, and helps the reader understand future advances in networking. This is written at a level for the technical staff who may need to understand this topic enough at a functional level but not at the administrative/operational level.
The section on secure communication was what I needed at the time I purchased the book, but the book's organization, level of detail and readability will definitely make this a popular reference book.
The solutions provided for few problems needs a revisit.

A book with Q&A if you are preparing for Network related jobs. Specifically good for Reviewing the concepts. You may skip few items related to network related calculations unless you are attending university exams or competitive exams.

The textbook outlines and then defines the five layers of networking: application, transport, network, link-layer and physical, chapter-by-chapter.

Well, if you are looking at this, you are most likely going to buy it for a class and have no choice. I will say the book is good and explaining it by the layer but some things keep repeating. Some things seem to be out of order, but it doesn't cause any issues with learning.
This is a great textbook for anybody just getting started with networking. This textbook is very well-written and easy to follow. It covers everything from the application layer to the data link layer in great detail.
