Intention is generally viewed as a pit-bull kind of determination propelling one to succeed at all costs by never giving up on an inner picture. In this view, an attitude that combines hard work with an indefatigable drive toward excellence is the way to succeed. However, intention is viewed very differently in this book. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has researched intention as a force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. This book explores intentionnot as something you dobut as an energy you’re a part of. We’re all intended here through the invisible power of intention. This is the first book to look at intention as a field of energy that you can access to begin co-creating your life with the power of intention. Part I deals with the principles of intention, offering true stories and examples on ways to make the connection. Dr. Dyer identifies the attributes of the all-creating universal mind of intention as creative, kind, loving, beautiful, expanding, endlessly abundant, and receptive, explaining the importance of emulating this source of creativity. In Part II, Dr. Dyer offers an intention guide with specific ways to apply the co-creating principles in daily life. Part III is an exhilarating description of Dr. Dyer’s vision of a world in harmony with the universal mind of intention.

Amazon.com Review
After years of spiritual study and reflection, inspirational speaker and bestselling author Wayne Dyer has emerged a highly esteemed teacher. His current message about tapping into the power of intention may sound like good old positive thinking: just stay focused on what you want, rather than focusing on the lack of having what you want. But the teaching here goes deeper than just controlling thoughts (although he does acknowledge that thought control is a surprisingly challenging and significant endeavor). This book might help readers land a better job, but it's more relevant for those who are ready to detach from an ego-driven life filled with quick fixes of happiness and step into a more authentic, joyful, and spiritually fulfilling life. His core teachings speak to tapping into a universal source of energy that can also be called the "power of intention." He calls people who are consciously co-creating with this energy source "connectors" and describes them as "individuals who have made themselves available for success...They don't say With my luck things won't work out. Instead, you’re more likely to hear something like, I intend to create this and I know it will work out." Connectors are also committed to Dyer's "seven faces of intention"--creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, abundance and receptivity, which he speaks to throughout the book. Each chapter concludes with five suggestions for becoming stronger connectors, such as how to monitor one's inner speech or shift out of low-energy beliefs. Some criticize Dyer for not giving credit to other teachers who offer this same message, especially Jerry and Esther Hicks (A New Beginning I) and even Ralph Waldo Emerson. It's impossible to know whether this was a deliberate omission, but it is obvious that Dyer has tapped into a growing conversation about co-creating with "source." Other leading-edge voices in this conversation include Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now), Shakti Gawain (Creative Visualization ) and Lynn Grabhorn (Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting). --Gail Hudson
From Publishers Weekly
For this very popular speaker and bestselling author of the classic Your Erroneous Zones, intention is not dogged determination, but an inner awareness "that exists in the universe as an invisible force of energy." This conviction, gleaned from Dyer's professional experiences, metaphysical studies and contacts with personal mentors, has allowed him to link to the force of intention and use it to enhance his life and work. For Dyer, there are seven faces, or energy fields, of intention: creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, abundance and receptivity. Drawing on a variety of spiritual traditions and gurus, Dyer first describes how to surmount the barriers that may get in the way of connecting to this power, such as negative thinking, relying on the opinion of others or retaining a controlling ego. Although Dyer's message is deeply sympathetic, his conception of the fields of insight reads like a familiar mixture of Eastern and Western philosophies wrapped up in a new theoretical package. In a chapter on living a stress-free life, for example, he recommends silently repeating the words "I want to feel good"-i.e., practicing a form of meditation-and elsewhere advises practicing detachment, a cornerstone of Buddhism. Another tactic, using forgiveness as a means to achieve peaceful relations with difficult family members, has recently found a wealth of expression. But whatever his sources, Dyer's soothing voice and gentle prescriptions for happiness remain uniquely his own, as fans will recognize.

I liked it
By Scott Clark
Sure, there are some people who may rag on this book and try to point out some inconcistencies or flaws, and I hope it makes them feel good to be so sharp. I really do. I'll be the first to admit that self-help type books can have the tendency to be too "out there" or touchy-feely, or whatever -- if you've read a few you'll know what I'm talking about. This one was different for me though. What I really liked about this book is the way it asks you to just look at things differently. And although I havent seen it mentioned, what I've come to recognize is that the underlying theme of the book is to look at life from a perspective of love and patience. Sounds corny I know, but if a person can be emotionally mature enough to realize that love, acceptance, friendship, (and all that good stuff) are important elements of our happiness then they are on the right path. And if some of those things you desire are lacking in your life, its not like you cant create them. Duh, everything you want is obviously out there. You just have to look at things differently, which in turn will probably make you act on situations differently, which in turn will probably help you to fulfill your desires. The greatest complement I can give this book is that it has helped turn me from a competitive, ego driven snob into a more charismatic, interesting, better person. Really. And I aint even done yet.

A gift for yourself.
By A. Shaffer
Truth be told, I'm taking my time with this book. It is so rich with lessons that I read a page and think on it for a few months before moving on. It's full of gorgeous illustrations and beautiful, compassionate wisdom. Beautiful gift for yourself or someone close to you who would be open to hearing more from Wayne or is into metaphysics.

A life-changer
By L. Blumenthal
I don't think I've read anything as spiritually charged and mesmerizing as this book in many years. Wayne Dwyer takes us to the core of what we are--spritual beings--and tells us how to be a co-creator of the future. It may sound like gobbledygook at first, but if you keep reading, Dwyer follows the principles of quantum theory, and gnostic religion to fuse a way of thinking that a person of any relgion can practice.
The best thing about this book is that if you put Dwyer's instructions to work, things actually begin to happen. It's extremely exciting and all I could think about was that if I keep practicing Dwyer's life-changing way of looking at the world, there's no telling what I can acheive.
I don't read self-help books and I usually shy away from religion, but this book won me over completely. I recommend it highly. You'll feel better the minute you finish the first chapter.
