Hardly a Comic
By Nat Rose
This was awful.
I'm a huge fan of Joker, Harley and Batman, but this was a mess.
Going into it, I expected a fairly regular comic format (speech bubbles, illustrations, etc).
Nope.
It was written in the format of a [bad] novel with the occasional digitally-created picture (very much like video game visual shots, many of them hard to tell what was going on).
It was similar to a long, drawn out, badly written monologue... without being a monologue.
Unnecessary bits in the story.
One of the most perverse depictions of The Joker I've seen yet, although this seemed intentional and I suppose it's a matter of which version(s) of Joker you like best. Still, this one seemed a bit... rabid. Disturbing. More than a few references to "giving birth" came up.
I kept thinking "MAKE IT END", as I was determined to make it through.
All around, not for me. The long, rambling, shaky story, the very few "illustrations" and the type of illustrations, none of it appealed to me.
The only reason I'm keeping it is for reference. There were maybe two quotes that could (and one has been) sited to help bring home the relationship between Batman and The Joker, but I wouldn't recommend going out and buying this.

The NEW new Joker.
By Lika Laruku
I'm deducting 1 point for the writing; the author has a tenacious tendancy to prattle on & on with insignificant details, like Anne Rice or John Steinbeck, which is annoying for those who don't have rock-solid attention spans.
Batman R.I.P. is an exciting new story arc that has been mostly positively recieved, leaving a few confused & impatient for what comes after. For Joker fans, Batman R.I.P. brings about the biggest rebirth of the Joker since The Dark Night Returns, only this one is canon to the series as opposed to being an Otherworlds story. If anything, it's as if he's been dipped into the chemical vat all over again, with a much darker outcome.
This all-new Joker wants to destroy his ties to his past & sports a whole new look, a very attractive & super awesometastic look, the way Tony Daniel draws him in latter issues. His first priority is to baptize his rebirth in the blood of his former henchmen.
This book also signifies the end of the questionable relationship between himself & Harley Quinn. She's been mostly soloing without him since 2004 & working with him on the occasion, but since she is a reminder of his past, the Joker wants her dead.
Batman R.I.P. primarily has readers questioning the fate of Bruce Wayne as Batman, but with the Joker's over-the-top transformation & him being linked to Batman like an unavoidable reflection, we can only expect the same from the Bat.
By personal suspicions are that the "death" of Batman will be about rebirth or "sheding his skin", even if there's a temporary stand in until he emerges from his coccoon.
Back to the Joker.... Time & time again, he's proved himself to be King of the Rogues Gallery, not only because he's Batman's arch nemesis, but because the other villains who challenge the Joker's athority regret it, if they live. Some good examples of his athority would be the Arkham Asylum novel & the Salvation Run mini series. Usualy people who only knew the Joker by reputation found him annoying & would immidiately underestimate him, despite his reputation. Now villains who scarcely know him are weary to be near him, like in a "get that creepy thing away from us" sort of way.
Dare I say it? THIS Joker is proving to be MUCH darker than the Heath Ledger portral in the Dark Knight movie.

Interesting comic
By Wolverine
I enjoyed the story very much I liked the writers take on harley Quinn, however the art work is lame but the story is good. the author goes into great detail which makes it hard to follow at times but this is definitely a good comic
